The Tamil Nadu State Government videl G.O.Ms.174 SW & NMP (SN7) dated 27-11-2002 issued orders to purchase the following Nutritious commodities for preparation of Weaning Food under the World Bank Assisted Integrated Child Development Scheme III and for supply to the identified Integrated Child Development areas in this State covering 16 Districts.

In addition to the above, the Food Corporation of India is allotting Wheat under this Scheme as per the Indents furnished by the Weaning Society and the same is being lifted by the TNCSC Limited from the FCI depots and supplied to the Weaning Societies. The quantity of Wheat allotted under this scheme by the FCI for the year 2006-2007 is 5368 M.Ts.

The above scheme came into force with effect from 01-03-2003. The TNCSC Limited was entrusted with the task of purchasing the above raw materials and supply the same under this scheme. Accordingly, the TNCSC Limited is purchasing the required commodities through open tenders and supplying the same to the Women Integrated Child Development Project Weaning Societies on credit basis giving 3 months time to settle the amount.
- NFFWP SCHEME
Special allotment of rice is given to the flood affected areas, drought prone areas under National Food for Work Programme. Four Districts in Tamil Nadu are identified under this Scheme viz., Nagapattinam, Cuddalore, Villupuram and Tiruvannamalai. The allocation of rice is lifted from Food Corporation of India depots and moved to the respective taluk godowns of state Civil Supplies Corporation godowns and issued to the workers after collecting coupons through Public Distribution outlets as in the case of SGRY.
