The Government of Tamil Nadu, have introduced a schemes age 2 to 4 going to aganwadi school Children Providing food Commodities under this schemes.

The Tamil Nadu Civil Supplies Corporation undertakes supply of food commodities to the Aganwadi Centres.

The commodites required for providing meals to 2 to 4 are supplied from the TNCSC Stock.

Dhall, Black Bengal Gram, Green Gram and Palmolein Oil required for this scheme are being purchased by TNCSC through open tender by following the instructions laid down in the Tamil Nadu Transparency in the Tender Act 1998 and Rules 2000.

As for as Iron Fortified and Double Fortified Salt is concerned, the same is being purchased directly from M/s.Tamil Nadu Salt Corporation at the rate notified by the Government.

Further, the TNCSC, is delivering the required commodities at the door steps of Aganwadi Centres by arranging transport.

The claim towards the cost of the food commodities is presented to District Collectors and payment received to the regional head of Districts.

• Chief Ministers Breakfast Scheme (CMBF)

The Government of Tamilnadu vide its GO NO.43 Public (CM Breakfast) Dt.27.07.2022 has directed to provide breakfast to students studying in classes 1 to 5 on all school working days and since August 2022 rice. sugar, dal, P.oil and salt are being provided by the Tamilnadu civil supplies corporation in the districts where they are requested.

In the first phase, it has been ordered to provide the same to 5941 students studying in 36 schools in Chennai corporation and 37,740 students studying in 381 schools in 16 other corporations , further more it has been ordered to provide the same to 70,414 students studying in 11128 schools in other districts.

Under this scheme, it has been ordered to provide an expenditure of Rs.7/- per child per day under the morning snack scheme. The average expenditure per child per day as per the price of the 12 permitted snack 6.02 will be used to cover the additional expenditure incurred in preparing and providing snacks using any small grains for two days in a week, as per the letter No.17570, 2021 NMP 2/2021 dated 11.08.2022 of the Director, social welfare and women’s rights, further this scheme has been extended to all districts from 25.08.2023 and students studying in schools are also benefiting from this scheme.

Further more, this scheme has been extended to Government aided primary schools in rural areas from 15.07.2024. The first phase has been launched in Thoothukudi district, it has been implemented in all zones and about 20,59,000 students studying in 34,982 schools are benefiting from this scheme.
