The Government of Tamil Nadu, have introduced a scheme for Providing Nutritious Meal to school going childrens.
The Tamil Nadu Civil Supplies Corporation undertakes supply of food commodities to the Noon Meal Centres with effect from 01.07.1982.
The scale of supply per day per beneficiary under this scheme are as follows: (All in Grams)

The monthly requirement of food commodities are as follows :

Dhall, Black Bengal Gram, Green Gram and Palmolein Oil required for this scheme are being purchased by TNCSC through open tender by following the instructions laid down in the Tamil Nadu Transparency in the Tender Act 1998 and Rules 2000.
As for as Iron Fortified and Double Fortified Salt is concerned, the same is being purchased directly from M/s.Tamil Nadu Salt Corporation at the rate notified by the Government.
Further, the TNCSC, is delivering the required commodities at the door steps of Noon Meal Centres by arranging transport.
The claim towards the cost of the food commodities collected from TNCSC (Head Office) send to Social welfare Department and payment received to the regional head of Accounts.
- OLD AGE PENSIONER SCHEME: (STATE GOVERNMENT SCHEME)
As per G.O.(Ms.) No.771, Social Welfare and Noon Meal Programme Department dated 06.10.1980, the Government have introduced free supply of rice to Old age pensioners with effect from 01.11.1980.
The monthly supply is = 1007 Mts.
The rice required for this scheme is met from TNCSC stock and the value of rice is received from the District Collectors by presenting claim bill.
